Congratulations!
3/10/2013 ..... I was down at the pier yesterday afternoon for the Festival of the Kite and it was a wonderful time. My son and I watched the kites for hours, Yo Yo demonstrations and the juicy Hot Dog contest. It was a great time.Congratulations!
IT'S COMING DOWN ... IT'S COMING DOWN ... FINALLY !
1/30/2012 ..... The octagonal building adjacent to Kincaid’s and marina Basin III has been damaged in the recent winds. A thorough inspection has indicated that the building needs to be torn down due to structural damage.
As a public safety precaution, the City will close the ramp that transitions from the Pier to the Boardwalk (and vice-versa) around the building until the building is removed. Signage will be added as necessary to direct visitors to the Pier and to the Boardwalk. The demolition will be completed as soon as possible and when complete, the ramp will re-open. We will continue to provide updated information throughout this project. Questions should be directed to Leonardo Management.
My girlfriend and I really got hooked on the BB Gun game (shoot the entire star out) and played it for a long time before the place had to close. Anyways I was thinking it would be a great valentines day present if I could essentially rent that game for 30 minutes for unlimited use to give her a real chance to win (she was very very upset she didn't win any of the big prizes!)I think it would mean a lot to her and maybe give her some time to actually learn how to shoot that gun!
I know it's a weird request, but I figured it was worth asking and maybe it wouldn't be insanely expensive. We could make ourselves available anytime in the evening of February 14th. Anyways let me know your thoughts / price!
1/27/2012 ..... I went down to the pier yesterday and it was raining. Not very hard, just one of the California winter drizzles. Suzie (my 5 year old) loves the Tilt-=A-Whirl in the Fun Factory. To my surprise the ride was only 50 cents instead of $2.00. We rode half a dozen times, Suzie rode the little Merry Go Round and we had a wonderful time. We will go when it rains again.
1/26/2012 ..... Redondo Fun Factory has been around for decades, and most visitors have fond childhood memories of the place. There are old and new games available, over 300 of them, including air hockey and a Tilt-a-Whirl ride. Special discounts are offered for handicapped patrons or groups larger than 30 people.Food is not served at the Redondo Fun Factory, but patrons can walk right next door for fresh crab, beer and various other snacks.
1/24/2012 ..... It's raining today so I am going to take Elena, my four year old to the Fun Factory so she can ride the carousel. She loves to go round and round and it's only a quarter. Best of all we both like to ride the tilt-a-whirl and it's only fifty cents. A little girl has to be about waist high but Elena just makes it. She was scared the first time but now she screems and shouts just like her mother. It's a lot of fun and cheaper than a baby-sitter. As a plus we will have shucked Oyseters as a late lunch at the Fun Restaurant.
1/14/2012 ..... From North to South, there's a lot to do on the Redondo Beach Boardwalk. There are a loth of restaurants, fish markets, bars, shops and a great amusement center with a Tilt-A-Whirl inside.
Before I moved to Califonia I thought that the boardwalk was under the pier. It's actually to the North of the pier next to the inlet where all the boats dock.
I come to the boardwalk, INTERNATIONAL BOARDWALK, a lot and some of my favorite places are: Gambrinus - A Russian gem ... great beers, great food! ..... Naja's -Many ... many beers on tap? Take your friends here, they'll have a blast! ..... KEGS - A fun place with good bands, pizzas & a good assortment of beers on tap. ..... Joy's Angels - A lovely new story with emotional gifts. ..... Redondo Fun Factory - So fun! Where else within walking distance from my place can you play Air Hockey? ..... Fun Fish Market Restaurant - Part of the Fun Factory this is my favorite place to eat.
I visit often and so should you!
I love bringing friends here because they never knew such a place existed. Most games are cheap, the carnival games are fun,you can play air hokey in the back and you could win prizes. The prizes section reminds me of the real store and has wonderful "Surprise Boxes". The only difference is you pay with tickets or tokens.
Last Sunday we were there and it was raining. To our amazement the Tilt-A-Whirl was only fifty cents instead of the usual weekend price of two dollars. What a deal ! ! ! ! ! The Fun Factory is a must see place when visiting the Redondo pier.
If you like Nostalgia, like me, you MUST check this out.
